Have you ever thought, “I can get one more thing  in the bag, just for the bag to split and everything go all over the floor?” Harper Road traffic is in that position. Residents and business owners alike share this concern.

Currently, there is a traffic flow problem that on some days can cause a back up both to and from the interstate not only for private vehicles, but emergency vehicles. Ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles cannot get through easily delaying important care. 

A local business that we all know and love, the Chocolate Moose offers hundreds of flavors of coffees and unique drinks. In addition the CM offers a climbing wall and a golf course. Beckley needs this different venue for visitors. The familiar name “Starbucks “ unfortunately may overshadow tourists and new locals from our wonderful treasure hurting business that we have come to know and love.

From a resident’s perspective if Starbucks comes in where proposed, it’s going to make my treasured peace and tranquil neighborhood and expose it to vehicular traffic and foot traffic as my street is directly across from proposed site. I won’t be able to easily access Harper Road to get anywhere in the mornings, quite frankly afternoon or night.

Please sign this petition letting the council and the owner know, the lot he has chose is not a good choice for yet another Starbucks.  A proposed location would be in the Crossroads mall.  On Harper Road, you cannot stuff another anything else in the bag, we are at capacity.
