Stacy’s @ Melrose, a queer bar in Phoenix, AZ, has recently announced the implementation of a new AI model, “Mothr”.

Here is the statement from the bar:

“Meet MOTHR.

She's learning. She's listening. She's almost here.

MOTHR is already helping our staff with schedules, side work, internal tools, and website updates.

Soon, she'll be live for performers and guests-answering questions about events, shows, drinks, and all things Stacy's.

New tools. Same heart. Designed for our community, by us.”

With significant backlash from the community, the Stacy’s Instagram account has turned off comments and stood strong in their decision. The performers, bar patrons, and queer people of Phoenix ask Stacy’s to discontinue their use of AI in their queer space due to the detrimental environmental effects on clean drinking water, the negative effects on the POC community, and the misrepresentation of the values of the community that serves them.
