Drivers regularly speed along Rogers Ave. between Eastern Parkway and Atlantic Ave. Many drivers illegally use the Bus lane as their personal fast lane.

These drivers are putting children and older adults at risk of being injured or worse. There are several schools; Pre-K, as well as K-8; and an older adults facility in the immediate area.

Just recently, a 12 year old girl was hit by a car that went through a red light, when crossing Rogers on her way home from school. Thankfully, she only sustained minor bruises, but she is traumatized by the event.

It seems only to be a matter of time before it happens again or worse!

We are asking the NYC DOT to:

1) Establish and enforce a School Safety Zone Between Eastern Parkway and Dean St. along Rogers and Bedford Avenues

2) For a speed bump to be installed on Sterling Place Between Rogers and Bedford

3) Traffic Cameras to be installed along Rogers between Eastern Pkwy and Sterling Place

4) Crossing Guards to be hired for the corners of Rogers and Sterling and Bedford and Sterling
