Cages are filled with dogs and cats that are stacked on top of each other without having the ability to move. This includes the many dogs and cats that were taken off streets, strays and also the ones that got lost from loving homes and ended up on the streets by accident. Many of these animals are still taken while wearing their collars as an indication that they belong somewhere else.

Sometimes dogs and cats are also specifically bred for meat consumption. These animals remain in their cages until they are ready to be slaughtered, many spend their whole lives living in these terrible spaces without ever knowing how soft grass feels like. These animals when left to be transported suffer with many broken limbs which aren't treated and the animals suffer alone. As the animals lives come to an end according to (“Dogs and Cats Killed for Their Meat Need Your Signature!”) they are extracted from their cages by force and are beaten up with metal bars before they are slaughtered, boiled, skinned and sold as fresh meat. The dogs and cats that remain are left to watch in fear as their friends suffer and their lives come to an end.

And even when we know that many citizens in China do not consume cat or dog meat there are still approximately 10 million dogs and 4 million cats that come to be slaughtered for meat consumption and their fur each year. And as we know in 2020 the Chinese government declared that dogs would be removed from the list of animals that are considered to be livestock, however this does not include cats. But without officially banning the consumption of cat and dog meat, millions of animals still suffer. We have to learn to accept animals the same way we accept humans.
