Defenseless animals in Serbia are being hurt and tormented for the pleasure of people, and we need to protect them. In Serbia, there is currently no specific legislation that explicitly bans zoophilia or the sexual abuse of animals. This leaves countless innocent creatures vulnerable to horrific acts of cruelty and creates a market for sexual abuse of animals in cities across Serbia. In 2017 the British news outlet “The Mirror” published a story documenting how tourists visit Belgrade to have sexual intercourse with animals such as dogs for as little as £60. We must urge Serbian lawmakers to implement strict laws that criminalize zoophilia and ensure severe penalties for offenders. By doing so, we can protect these innocent beings from suffering unimaginable pain and trauma.
