Noise pollution has become an unforgivable disturbance in Ravet, Pimpri-Chinchwad, due to the incessant loud music and DJ events hosted by Santosh Resort. As a resident, I’ve experienced the impact it has on our community firsthand. This issue is deeply personal and affects many among us—my newborn baby, kids, students preparing for exams, and working-from-home professionals are all finding it increasingly challenging to concentrate and complete daily tasks. Pregnant women and senior citizens are also battling with the negative effects of this noise, which exacerbates stress and disrupts sleep.

Despite multiple calls to the 112 helpline and several written complaints, Santosh Resort continues to blatantly ignore the rules by operating loudspeakers and hosting DJ events past the legally mandated 10 PM deadline. Additionally, they fail to adhere to the daytime noise limit of 55 decibels. According to the Maharashtra Police Act and Noise Pollution Rules, it is unlawful to generate excessive noise that disrupts public peace, especially during night hours.

Studies have shown that prolonged exposure to high levels of noise pollution not only leads to sleep disturbances and stress but can also cause more severe health problems such as hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. We cannot let this negligence continue.

We need immediate action from the local authorities to enforce existing noise pollution regulations strictly and ensure compliance by all establishments, including Santosh Resort. Instituting regular inspections and severe penalties for non-compliance will deter repeated violations.
