ASSAM GOVERNMENT: HYPOCRISY & CORRUPTION?

2023: Assam sought the return of 9 Assam elephants, including Joymala, from Tamil Nadu, citing poor care and inadequate maintenance in Tamil Nadu temples.

2026: The same Assam system is facilitating FIVE MORE new elephants to Tamil Nadu temples — including 5-year-old Durga, already on her way to Madurai.

As per Assam FD, Tamil Nadu temples were not good enough for Assam’s 9 elephants in 2023, but why are 5 more new elephants are being sent there again in 2026?

And if these elephants are genuinely “privately owned”, why was Durga loaded onto a truck from a Government Sanctuary at Manas National Park, rather than the alleged owner’s premises?

Do these five individuals (so called owners) really own these elephants — or is the ownership only on paper?

Who is behind their paperwork, purchase, transfer, permissions and money trail? Is there a larger elephant-trading SYNDICATE or MAFIA operating behind these transfers?

And these are very young elephants — 5, 6 and 8 years old. Where are their MOTHERS ?

2023: “Bring our 9 elephants back.”
2026: “Send 5 new elephants to Tamil Nadu.”

HOW DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE?

CALL TO ACTION:

Please write to the Chief Ministers of Assam and Tamil Nadu and demand a transparent, independent investigation into the ownership, source, permissions, transactions and money trail behind all five elephant transfers.
