Please do not contact the shelters regarding this situation. Phone calls to the shelters HAVE to be reserved for rescue of these animals. This issue needs to be resolved at a higher level. It's very important to understand this.

Gratiot County Animal Control in Michigan sells shelter dogs and cats to class B dealers (“Pound Seizure”) for cruel animal experiments. 

Pound seizure is the practice of selling or releasing of shelter animals to animal brokers known as Class B Dealers or to research facilities for experimentation or education. These animals may be used as expendable “tools” in lethal laboratory experiments or educational purposes (e.g., dissections).
