Hermit crabs often are overlooked, dismissed as "just crabs." However, they are remarkable creatures that deserve our attention and compassion. The commercial practices surrounding their sale in pet stores and carnivals make it impossible for them to breathe properly and ultimately lead them to a slow and painful death.

HERES WHY 

They have gills not Lungs! they need high humidity/ moisture  to breathe and they are out in open air at stores! They are tropical creatures. When you see them at stores they are suffocating slowly! They only survive / look fine in stores bc it takes weeks to months for them to suffocate to full death !! Pet stores need to keep them in their proper environment to BREATHE!

Unfortunately, many pet stores and carnivals keep these animals in open-air conditions, failing to provide humidity and environment they require to breathe properly. Without sufficient moisture in their environment, hermit CRABS SLOWLY DIE. 

The sale of hermit crabs in these inadequate conditions is not only inhumane but deeply distressing for these small creatures. Despite their small size, they deserve to thrive in healthy environments, not suffocate in sealed plastic boxes or open-air containers for the sake of profit
