Stop Sefton Council evicting Ex-Caretaker of 24 years service
The Issue
Attention everyone! (written for our Dad)
I am deeply saddened to share some distressing news about a beloved local caretaker who has dedicated an incredible 24.5 years of their life to the school. Not only that, but they have also been dedicated to the school for over 30 years, as part of that, served as a school governor for over 4 terms, showing their unwavering commitment to the schools educational community.
However, it breaks my heart to inform you that after retiring, the caretaker has been left without a home. It was protocol for a retired caretaker to be provided with accommodation upon leaving the role, but unfortunately, Sefton Council has failed to fulfill this commitment, and as a result the caretaker is threatened with homelessness as of Thursday. This is not only an injustice to someone who has given unaccountable loyalty to their job, but it is also a violation of their trust and the support they deserve in their retirement.
To make matters worse, the school administration has decided not to utilize the caretaker's house for the new caretaker, instead leaving the property empty. This decision seems incredibly unfair and insensitive, especially considering the dire situation the retired caretaker now finds themselves in, also taking into consideration, they have a wife and young son.
We must come together as a community to question the morality of such actions. How can this be right? The caretaker has dedicated half of his entire life to the school and the community in which it serves and the least we can do is ensure they have a safe and secure place to call home in their retirement years.
Let's rally together and demand that Sefton Council and the school administration rectify this situation immediately. Our caretaker deserves better treatment, and it is our responsibility to stand up for what is right. Share this post, spread the word, and let's make our voices heard. Together, we can make a difference and bring justice to this caretaker's situation.
