💰 Public school funding is under attack! Texas lawmakers are pushing a school voucher scheme that will drain millions of taxpayer dollars from public schools and redirect them to private and religious institutions with zero accountability.

🔴 Vouchers take money from public schools. Every student who takes a voucher reduces funding for their local school, meaning fewer resources for the 90% of Texas students who stay.

🔴 Vouchers don’t cover full private school tuition. The average private school costs $15,000–$30,000 per year, while vouchers only provide $8,000. Families who can’t afford the difference are left behind—but wealthy families use vouchers as a tax break.

🔴 No accountability. Private schools don’t have to follow state curriculum, report student progress, or accept all students—they can reject kids with disabilities, behavioral challenges, or lower test scores.

🔴 Rural Texans get NOTHING. 60%+ of rural communities have NO private schools nearby. But their public schools will still lose funding.

🔴 Vouchers have failed in other states. Arizona and Florida implemented voucher programs, and costs exploded while student outcomes stayed the same. Texas must not repeat their mistake!
