Justice for Sasha Lee Shah: Stop Police Corruption Leading to GBV!

Justice for Sasha Lee Shah: Stop Police Corruption Leading to GBV!
The Issue
On Sunday, 30th October, 2022, the life of a beautiful, intelligent and successful young woman was brutally cut short by her killer, an EX boyfriend who refused to accept that she no longer wanted to be subjected to abuse and move on with her life. He executed her and then ended his own life. Prior to this incident, Sasha Lee Shah brought an interdict against her attacker, and the Magistrate who issued the order instructed that the murderer's firearm was to be removed. Captain Luanne Emmanuel, the officer that received and served the order, did not remove the murderer's firearm and he used that same weapon, 33 days later, to end Sasha's life.
We, the citizens of South Africa say enough is enough. We want Captain Emmanuel, the officers involved in intimidating Sasha's family and SAPS to be held accountable for their failure to do their duty and comply with a court order that cost Sasha her life. Furtherto we appeal to the South African Department of Justice and Minister of Police to take GBV cases more seriously and prevent this from happening to another victim again. We appeal to our law enforcement agencies to take threats of violence against women more seriously and to act with haste when such orders are brought to their attention. We say no to GBV and no to police corruption and incompetence!
