Dear friends,

Thank you everyone for signing the petition, calling, and emailing the SVA gallery.

The purpose of this petition was to remove the Ukrainian flag and any mention of Ukraine used in a purely exploitative exhibition that was giving space to Russian voices while forbidding images from Ukraine. 

The gallery decided to cancel their show. 

This makes it clear that the exhibition wouldn't be possible without appropriating the struggle of Ukraine. 

The statement from the organizers mentions that many of us were "confused".

We were not. We knew what was wrong and we spoke up.

We will continue to speak up.
