Thank you for everyone's support.
As most of you will now know the CCC Independent Commissioner decided the RC to be "Non-Notified", "ie adverse effects on both environment and people are less than minor. This means the environmental effects are deemed acceptable, and no parties are considered affected."
After many consultations between the Planning dept, the Independent Commissioner and the Applicant, Rolling Meadows/Sub180, the Applicant was granted the Resource Consent.
For Your Information:
They have allowed the music during the following hours:
Monday 29th Dec 5,000 campers - Midday to Midnight - Stage A - 12hours
Tuesday 30th Dec up to 10,000 partygoers Stage A - 1pm to 1am Stage B and C 10.05am - 10pm
Wednesday 31st Dec up to 10,000 partygoers Stage A 2pm - 2am, Stage B and C 10.05am - 10pm.
This is along with crowd noise, amusement rides, generators etc.
The other big consideration is the Traffic on Lower Styx Road. Be aware it will be chaos with holiday makers going to the beach, Spencer Park Campground and Bottle Lake visitors.
They dropped the fireworks from the Resource Consent but the CCC has said they can apply for a permit. This is madness in this location, surrounded by Bottle Lake Forest on 2 sides and so much dry combustible material.
When this event is on and affecting you negatively, let the Council know, whether it be noise, traffic issues or anything else.
