After my  email and Letter  to RMS and the Minister for Transport I finally received the reply below to say that the Project is now “ON HOLD” pending further Investigations. (Another Stalling Tactic).

Hi Michael,

 This project is hold pending further investigations into the Rapid Bus service from Liverpool to Western Sydney International Airport.

 These investigations will help to determine the delivery of the most suitable rapid bus service to connect the Liverpool community to the Airport and Aerotropolis by 2026.

 Following the completion of these investigations for the Rapid Bus service, we will provide the community with more information.

IS THIS NOW AN EACH WAY BET BY MAYOR WENDY WALLER?

On One hand...Council has welcomed the commitment by the state government of the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport and have set the agenda for a rapid transit corridor connection to the future airport via Liverpool thorough their flagship project: the Fifteenth Avenue Smart Transit (FAST) Corridor.

And on the Other hand..."Ms Waller said council supported the extension of the South West Metro from Bankstown to Liverpool and the extension of the Inner West and Leppington Line as the "most efficient and cost-effective" way of connecting the new airport site to the existing public transport network."

In my opinion, the most cost effective way of providing rail access to the new Western Sydney Airport for residents of South Western Sydney is to extend the South West rail link from Leppington Station to Western Sydney Airport and use the East Hills line. (Something that I have been calling for since 2018.)
