Good Morning Fellow Residents, Local Patrons and Petition Supporters

THANK YOU for your Continued Support with this Petition

Some of you have asked WHY do we need to sign two Petitions?

The simple answer is that Paper Petitions can be formally Lodged in Parliament and when done so with more than 500 signatures then the Minister (in this case Andrew Constance Minister for Transport) must provide a written reply to the MP who lodged the Petition within 30 days and the petition and the reply are recorded in Hansard.

Online petitions like this one can’t be formally lodged in Parliament but they do provide people with a public voice, attract the attention of the public, media, politicians and increase awareness of the issue the Petition is about.

The other thing about Online Petitions like this one is that they are open and transparent and serve as a record plus provide the opportunity for you to receive Updates about the petition and monitor the progress.

So please Sign and Share the Online Petition and also make an effort to pop down to the shops and sign the Paper Petition.

Thank You again for your Support
