Hello, everyone.  I just wanted to drop you a quick line.  We're over 800 signatures now and still counting.  I can't thank you enough for your support.

The "Recent signers" section on the petition page is showing no one has signed since 3 days ago, but I'm seeing several signatures in my dashboard that aren't account for.  If you've signed the petition recently, but don't see your name listed, please be sure to check your inbox (and SPAM folder) for a verification email from Change.org.

Housing discrimination complaints have been submitted to the Indiana Civil Rights Commission and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BsmLgTXDc/) and we are in the process of retaining an attorney to move forward with filing an emergency restraining order to prevent MiddleTown Property Group from forcing my mother to vacate her home when her current lease expires in a couple weeks.  Once that has been checked off the to-do list, we will move forward with additional legal action.

The only reason we have been waiting to move forward with a lawsuit is because we didn't know what action the Attorney General's office will take once their investigation has concluded.  Our original complaint was submitted in October of 2023 and was assigned to an investigator in January of 2024.  That investigator first contacted me and began investigating in earnest in July of 2024, so that investigation has now been active & ongoing for more than a year at this point.  There's no indication it will conclude anytime soon.  I was informed months ago that so many complaints had been filed with the AG's office over the past 12-18 months that an entire team of investigators had to be assigned to handle the volume.

Thanks again for your support.  I'll keep you in the loop with further developments.  In the meantime, please keep sharing this petition with everyone you know.  The QR code image included with this email will take them right to the petition, so if you're so inclined, you can also share it with people in real life.

If you happen to live in a property owned by MiddleTown Property Group, you could even print some to give to your neighbors.  This fight is about stopping them forcing my elderly, disabled mom out of her home, but that's just the first step in a much bigger fight against MiddleTown Property Group and you can learn more about that effort at MiddleTown Property Group Sucks.
