Stop Repeated Crashes Into Our Neighborhood- Complete the Santa Juanita Ave. Realignment!

The Issue
We are homeowners and parents of young children living near the intersection of Santa Juanita Ave. and Barton Road. When we purchased our home in 2018, there was an agreement between City of Folsom, Sacramento County, and Placer County to realign the road and correct the two dangerous sharp turns. One is directly behind our property.
That realignment was never completed.
Since then, cars regularly lose control at this turn and crash into our yard. This is not an isolated event-it happens repeatedly. Every time we hear screeching tires, our hearts stop. We live in constant fear that the next incident will again crash through our fence, home - or worse. Our neighbors have also experienced cars crashing into and damaging their properties due to how poorly the road is designed and maintained.
We were informed that meaningful change may not occur unless a fatality happens. As parents and residents, we cannot accept that a life must be lost before action is taken. Preventative safety measures exist precisely to avoid tragedy.
The failure to complete the agreed-upon realignment has affected our family and community tremendously. The signs that have been installed over time are frequently broken and non-operational. The authorities are slow in replacing them and they have not prevented incidents from occurring.
We are asking for our community's support to demand accountability and action not only for ourselves and the residents of surrounding homes, but for the thousands of drivers and cyclists who frequent the road on a daily basis as well.
If you agree that the City and Counties who control Barton and Santa Juanita Roads have not maintained the roads in a safe condition and/or if you have experienced damage or agree that the roadway as configured has created an ongoing nuisance, please indicate your support by signing and sharing this petition. Your comments will help the City and Counties who agreed to realign the roadways understand what you are observing and experiencing.
