Stop Renovictions in Brampton

The Issue

In the heart of Brampton, where 507 Balmoral stands, a community is at risk. Many residents have called these affordable apartments home for decades, enjoying a sense of belonging and stability in a rapidly changing city. Recently, plans have surfaced to replace these longstanding residences with high-priced condominiums.

This change threatens to displace individuals and families who have built their lives here, who cannot afford the soaring prices of the new developments. For many, these apartments are more than just a place to live; they are a lifeline in a housing market that is increasingly out of reach.

A proposed high-rise development threatens not only the residents' homes but the very fabric of our community. It represents a shift towards exclusive housing that does not reflect the diverse and inclusive values of Brampton. Sign this petition to stand with Brampton residents in keeping their homes and preserving the city's diversity and inclusivity.

FACTS

-currently 56 units, plan for 1020 units

-currently ample parking, plan for 799 parking spaces (457 less than required by city by-laws)

-no plans to address traffic congestion

-currently residential, plans to include some commercial units

-currently low rise, plan for 45 storey high rise

By-law Amendment Meeting June 9th, 2025 at 7:00pm in the City Hall Council Chamber.  Attend in-person or virtually!
