The city of New Westminster is proposing 2 options to redesign London St as part of the Active Transportation Network Plan from 2022:

1. Remove parking on alternating sides - reduces parking for residents
2. Turn street into one way for every other block

Residents were not consulted despite the plan outlining a resident parking survey. Both options threaten to impact countless working-class residents and seniors who may not have the luxury of alternative transportation options. This impacts the entire west end as other streets will see increased speed and volume. 

The redesign will lead to increased congestion, confusion, longer travel times, and an overall decrease in the quality of life for those who utilize London Street regularly.
