The bailout bank is bailing out and Helensburgh Business Group are fighting back.

The Royal Bank of Scotland have announced that they will close the Helensburgh branch of their bank on September 25 with no consultation and apparently no consideration for the local people who have supported the bank for many years and including their share of the massive £45b Government bailout in 2008.

This decision leaves the whole of Helensburgh and Lomond with only one high street bank branch left and no way for our small businesses, retailers, restaurateurs and publicans with nowhere to go to bank cash or get change and potentially facing inconvenient and lengthy journeys carrying high levels of cash, putting them in serious danger and hampering their businesses.
