STOP PUPPY MILLS, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

The Issue

I've always wanted a pet, as a child, I walked into every pet store I saw and stared, starry-eyed, at the tiny little puppies with wide, longing looks. They were extremely cute and I would watch the puppies for hours and every time it brung me joy, it was always my favourite thing to do.

But now, these same pet stores no longer bring me the same unbridled joy, they bring me sadness. And no, it’s not because I don't love animals anymore. Rather, growing up I learned the secret about the dark and sinister supplier to most pet stores – puppy mills (aka puppy farms).

Dogs from most pet stores come from puppy mills, which are commercial breeding facilities where dogs are bred for profit and kept in horrible conditions.

Puppy mills often keep dogs in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions without adequate veterinary care, food, water, or socialization. According to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), there are an estimated 10,000 puppy mills in the U.S., producing over 2 million puppies each year while millions of adoptable pets languish in shelters.

How puppies live in puppy mills

It's really sad to see how they live, the puppy mills are really just so cruel to these innocent dogs and puppies. They only want them to breed as many puppies as they can even if it causes them to die, they don't care, they just want money.

What happens when they don't get enough food

Dogs and puppies in puppy mills receive inadequate and low-quality nutrition. Therefore, many puppies and dogs have died due to not enough nutrition because they get diseases and health issues and the puppy mills don't even bother to look after them.

Puppy mills make every dog breed as many dogs as they can before they die which is very cruel and exhausting to the dogs, and if the dogs can't produce and more puppies, then the people working there just kill them as if they are nothing!

Many newborn puppies get taken away from their family never knowing when they will see them again. Imagine if that happened to us, that will be very sad right? So why do the same to them? 2 million dogs die in puppy mills each year. If we don't do anything now, then millions of innocent dogs and puppies will die.

We need to stop supporting this cruel industry by refusing to buy dogs from pet stores, and we need to STOP PUPPY MILLS!!! Instead, we should adopt pets from shelters, rescue organisations, or buy dogs from ethical breeders.

Please sign this petition and send it to others to help end this cruelty and STOP PUPPY MILLS!!! This petition will help to raise awareness about the issue and educate others to help do the right thing. With your help the puppy mills will notice this and hopefully try to at least treat the dogs and puppies more kindly. We can save the puppies, one signature at a time, but we need your help, the puppies need your help!
