As a resident of Juanita, Kirland, the proposed development between Juanita Bay Park and Juanita Beach Park, where Michael’s craft store is currently located, deeply concerns me. I call on the Kirkland City Council to act urgently to stop this proposed development. 

Key reasons for stopping this proposed development:

1) Negative impact to the various components of the wetlands environment, including decreased flood mitigation, potential runoff and pollution of the wildlife water source, and further endangering the delicate wildlife habitat of the 200+ species of wildlife who call Juanita Bay home.

2) Unsustainable traffic and parking congestion due to planned multi-story mixed-use building which includes issues such as single-point privately-owned car access to the location, limited medical and fire access, and constrained or no parking access for guests and contractors.

For these reasons, I call on the Kirkland City Council to act urgently to prevent this from going ahead. Protect our community, our wildlife, and our natural resources. Please, stand with me in opposing these plans and preserving Juanita as a safe, peaceful, and environmentally friendly place to live.
