No need for modernisation…
There is a great atmosphere in the museum this week, so many visitors of all ages, so many exclamations of wonder and excitement at the exhibits.
In the Bird Gallery-people are studying the birds in detail, telling each other their thoughts and stories, making associations with other museums, histories of nature conservation and display, experiences of the natural world and empathising with the birds. Because of its scale it is an immersive experience. This exhibit provokes so many thoughts and feelings across a diverse audience.
I hope the museum recognise how powerful this is.
Do the museum capture this unprompted feedback in any way? Or are the plans to remove the Bird Gallery actually only based on the personal preferences of the managers and Council members?
It makes us wonder- did the museum not just need some better publicity to get people into the building?
Last day to visit tomorrow.
