Ealing council is carrying out a consultation ( 5 July to 16 Aug 2023) for Gypsy & Traveller residential  pitches. The sites being considered are 1. Northolt Driving range (site 11) & 2. Downs Barn Farm/ West London Shooting Ground (Site 5A - preferred option) . The proposal is for up to 60 pitches within the next  5years & further two sites thereafter. 

Although the Gypsy & Traveller community should have a right to residential dwellings with appropriate amenities and facilities however the impact on this proposal would be devastating to the local residents and community.

The site will replace the only countryside space in Northolt and also the land is considered a historical asset and is habitat to endangered wildlife therefore it should be legally protected and no developments should be permitted. Northolt is a highly congested area with excessive traffic and high levels of pollution, we need our green spaces to counterbalance this.  Additionally the proximity of the site to existing residential areas is very close and therefore significant risk to our safety  and general quality of the area (eg. noise, waste, rodents etc),  burglary & antisocial behaviour cannot be underestimated and are major  concerns.

If this site provision is approved,  it will have an unacceptable & devastating impact on the character and experience of the surrounding area (s).

The consultation ends on 16th August, action has to be taken prior to this to STOP this gypsy & traveller site provision. 

I cannot stress enough the importance of the  local residents  to speak up by signing the petition. If we have enough signatures, the local councillor can  put our objections forward and stop this proposal. 

Share this petition across Ealing borough  so the residents are informed, the aim is to collect 10,000  signatures as possible by 15th August 2023.
