Area between the two lakes of Bhopal, the upper and lower lake has many trees and is a habitat of lots of bats.It is like an urban forest which facilitates carbon sequestration.The presence of many broad leaf trees is a bonus.

If the area is developed as per proposed plan it will be detrimental to the ecosystem.There will be loss of flora and fauna.The habitat of bats is endangered due to the impending policy for construction.Also,the surface temperature is low and thus soothing in summers because of trees.

The decision was taken on 8th of June 2023.
