I am sending out this update to address a couple different things and some of the info you would have already seen but bear with me and get to the end, it will have all been worth it. After you've read, please share- lets make sure Randy Crow get his message. -

the first reason is that I received a comment on my last update from Allyson Fowler with an excellent suggestion that is absolutely worth sharing: Here is her comment:

Adam Ridge in Johnston uses Crow Tow. On July 20th and 21st, they repainted lines in the parking lot and towed people who hadn't moved by 6:45AM on those two days (they allegedly taped announcements the previous Friday about this project to people's doors - didn't e-mail or text the info or reminders, at all - and these doors are in breezeways, where anyone can take the papers or a strong gust can make it blow away.) 

The complex is implementing a parking permit system, where we HAVE to use Crow Tow stickers on our windshields or risk being towed, even if we're in our assigned spots.

This complex is almost in Grimes; it doesn't make sense that they're using Crow Tow, which is almost 30 minutes away by highway. I imagine Adam Ridge or the management staff is getting some sort of benefit from this, that keeps them from using the tow company that's literally 5 minutes away.

The same company also owns Silver Oaks in West Des Moines, which shares the same property management team, as far as I know. I honestly think people should leave reviews on any apartment complex that works with Crow Tow, so prospective tenants know and can avoid the properties.

So lets follow that suggestion and get honest true reviews out there about the rental properties that will show up to potential future tenants, they have a right to know before selecting their next place to live if they are dealing with a company that has no problem receiving a benefit or a profit to their company from Crow Tow at the cost of causing undue hardship to tenants and visitors to the property. Only review properties that you yourself have personally experienced a hardship from as a direct result of a property management company being in league with Crow Tow. (I am not encouraging a review be done on a property because they contract with Crow Tow for towing services- there are absolutely good companies that use their services ethically and without any malice towards tenants and visitors-so I don't want a list being made and reviews being applied to every company that has a business relationship with them and beware there are laws out there where you would be sued if you lied or provided company names who cannot be proved to have been one of these bad apples- you would be guilty of slander so I will do my own review on Swift Properties and any one like Alllyson or I that has cause to warn people in advance should go review them   I also agree with Allyson's belief that these property management people are somehow benefiting from allowing Crow Tow to patrol and have exclusive, non contestable authority to steal vehicles. It  should be a human rights  violation against both Crow Tow and these private property companies  because it violates our Fifth Amendment. “The right to travel is a part of the liberty of which the citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment.” 

I have heard stories of many trailer parks mandating absurd rules that if a blade of grass is touching a tire, or if you park on the street to assist your disabled child or an elderly person in doors and you were only there for less than 5 min- you’ve violated the rules and Crow Tow has the right to seize the vehicle. Many of these people sharing their stories also report that they can’t always find a spot available in their “designated parking areas, and during the “busy” hours, they claim Crow Tow vehicles are parked in that lot taking up multiple spots.

My own experience with Swift Properties at Mulberry Pointe Apartments in Bondurant leads me to believe that the gain they receive by allowing these “purposefully  designed tow traps” is very great indeed.  Change,org isn’t allowing my entire photo to appear but you can see it on my Facebook page if interested - a photo of the parking lot spaces at this specific property. I highlight the spots marked reserved, the ones marked visitor, and the ones left unmarked.  What I found was that at this location there is front parking right up next to the apartment buildings and there are signs there that say Restricted Parking. On the other side of the road turning away from the buildings is the “back” parking where the only signs on this back side say “Visitor Parking” . However if you look at the map layout I included you will see these randomly placed 4-5 spots in that back parking that have no sign at all. My daughter parked in one of these spots and didn’t notice a parking sign at all until after her car was gone. What upsets me is that if you look at this layout- and a person who did notice the small sign at the entrance and the restricted parking in front of the building  and then seen that the few signs on the back side all said Visitor- it is only logical to assume the front is restricted and the back visitor, look at the layout yourself and tell me if you visited the place would you have known you were at risk of being towed? You wouldn’t— So after going circles with a person employed at Swift Properties - I finally spelled it out for her.  I was tired of trying to get her to see how what they were doing was wrong so in an email I told her that I was done- if she agreed to have restricted parking signs put up in these intentional traps on her property that I would drop my complaint against her and Crow Tow and remove my demand for the tow fee to be refunded. I told her I didn’t care about $204 - I could not allow more people to be subjected to this- think of the people who couldn’t afford the $204 fee and lost their means of survival  - and the only thing they did wrong was to pull into your (Swift Properties)  parking lot and become victim of a trap. I told her she had 1 week to get the signs up and if after a week they weren’t up she should plan on explaining to the judge why she would refuse such an easy solution to resolve my issue and preferred to be taken to a court over $204 instead.  It took her less than 20 minutes to respond with an email refusing to have the signs added stating that they have a sign marked at both entrances to their complex that was sufficient notice to anyone entering the property.  Soooo thats why I went and got that document made and ready— will update you after my day in court.

I would also like to respond to the a comment Randy Crow gave the media after Polk County dropped him-

That this petition was created by a legitimate tow on private property (insinuating that it was wrong for Polk County to include the petition when determining a governmental contract and or that it is wrong for me to petition that his city contract be terminated when my involvement was on private property). My response is-

This petition asks that Crow Tow government contracts be cancelled because it is irresponsible and wrong for a government of any city to continue to allow a privately owned for-profit company to continue being contracted when it has so aggreigiously violated members of our public. Des Moines risks being sued if they do renew Crow Tows contract after so many people have come forward. To renew that contract without establishing oversight and accountability measures in place to ensure his predatory business practices are not still being employed on helpless people with no way to be heard would just be the most reckless thing they could do.  And as I already explained at the top he is guilty of violating our rights under the Fifth Amendment- having given himself the power and authority to do so. If Des Moines renews him as it stands now without safety measures put in place I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see them in court alongside him in a class action lawsuit within 5 or 10 years.

The last thing is also about his comments to media that he is a victim of "Cancel Culture" by someone who was involved in a legitimate tow on private property. The rest of my update is a response directed entirely to Mr. Crow to show that these ridiculous claims he's making are not true and I can prove it-

 
 Cancel Culture Randy Crow? Why not report to the media that the day I came in for my daughters car - I told you that if I had to pay to get her car back when I was invoking my right to contest the legality of the tow that by Monday morning I would have a webpage up and in it I would include a petition asking that the Des Moines City Council cancel your contract because what you do to people is wrong! Remember that Randy? What response I was given? I was told to get the F%@* out of there did I know how many times you get threatened every day and there wasn’t  a D@&! thing I or anyone else could ever do to you. I shook my head at you and calmly told you that I wasn’t everyone else and you were making a mistake. -  No, I’m betting you don’t remember that conversation- well guess what? I knew that I would be dealing with a person with the character of a man who wouldn’t remember” the details when the time came that he was asked- so I stopped and bought a recording device and put in my pocket  before entering your establishment. I would be happy to share it with you or any media organization interested in getting a reaction from “that person who was upset over a legal tow on private property” .  So let me make this clear to you and any that have read this far down- you and I both know Cancel Culture has nothing to do with any thing happening to your business right now and you know what else?  When you told me that I couldn’t do anything to you, you were absolutely right!!! The only reason you are where you are is because of you and you alone!! My petition can’t even be blamed because if my claims were simply an upset person dealing with a towed car and me trying to use some Cancel Culture voodoo powers to get you gone it would never have worked - I’m not a popular person- I have absolutely no online presence or following whatsoever- the only reason the petition blew up is because of you- it would have fell flat if the claims about you made on this petition and everywhere online weren’t true. You are a criminal and should be treated so. I was happy you threw me out because I believed you had committed crimes against uncountless numbers of  people who had no way legally or otherwise to stand against you.  All that this petition did was give them a place to share their story. You only have yourself to blame.  And Body Cameras?? LOL give me a break- you cannot give yourself power over people of the population just because you wanted to and found a way to get away with it for the last 14 yrs. Your power is gone- the absolute only thing left to even have a remote chance of salvaging your business is TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE WRONGS YOU HAVE COMMITTED AGAINST SO MANY OF US AND PROMISE YOU ARE MAKING CHANGES TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING TO ANYONE ELSE IN THE FUTURE!! WHICH I TOLD YOU WHEN YOU HAD YOUR LAWYER SEND ME A CEASE AND DESIST LETTER- I EMAILED HIM BACK TELLING HIM THAT HE COULD NOT SCARE ME INTO DELETING THE PETITION YOU WOULD GET FURTHER WITH ME BY APOLOGIZING AND IMMEDIATELY IMPLEMENTING STEPS TO STOP YOUR EMPLOYEES FROM STEALING ITEMS OUT OF VEHICLES AND END ANY OF THOSE PREDATORY TOWING PRACTICES YOU OPERATE UNDER. It is possible to have a towing company who makes a profit ethically- if you are unable to do that then I will continue my fight against you because I refuse to sit back and allow you to keep targeting helpless people and getting away with it just like you say on my recording no one has the power to touch you. Every self appointed tyrannical leader throughout the entire world history believed that same thing- until a match was lit and the oppressed rose up against him. 

TO THE MEDIA-

And any members of the media can message me to request a copy of the recorded file- putting it in a pocket wasn’t the brightest thing to do but with some good volume and attention you will be able to hear that conversation for yourself and hopefully stop jumping on the idea that complaints and requests against a company or individual automatically constitutes cancel culture - The media whose actual job is to have that online presence and following with unfortunately the power to sway not only opinions of the public but also the feelings of the governing bodies of our society should not find it acceptable to allow a person or company who is accused of committing crimes to countless number of people repeatedly and who has not yet stopped, the platform they would need to try and gain support by pretending to be the victim. All that does is revictimize the actual people who have already been hurt by that person. Especially considering It would take only a few hours of research with all the info available to you online to determine that Crow Tow is no victim of cancel culture.
