Hi Everyone,

I was wanting to wait for the FOIA responses that I sent out to the Des Moines Police Department, West Des Moines PD, Sheriff's Department, and Ankeny PD before updating but someone sent me a video of a Crow  Tow employee getting into a physical altercation with a resident over a car tow and thought I'd go ahead and update now.  We don't see the beginning of the altercation but after watching it a few times it appears that a lady yells at Crow Tow for possibly towing a car that is legally parked and it ends with the lady being attacked and held on the ground. I will say again that we don't see the entire situation so there is no way to know (from the video) who got physical first. Either way it is very alarming- maybe Assault should be added to the possible crimes committed by this company.

You can see that video here: https://www.facebook.com/100040940800901/videos/438534687521221/

As for the FOIA requests; I have heard back from Polk County Sheriff Department and they had one complaint because someone was overcharged - that complaint was resolved. You can see everything I received from them (and watch for updates on the others) by going to Muckrock.com - just do a search for the Des Moines PD or you will probably pull the requests by searching crow tow.

Just checked - to see the Crow Tow FOIA requests you can search Crow Tow but then you need to narrow the results by selecting "Requests"
