Stop politicians in Indiana from reducing Medicaid waiver programs

The Issue

My son is 30 years old and disabled. Our family relies on Indiana's Medicaid waiver programs to ensure he receives the necessary care and support. These programs are essential lifelines for individuals with disabilities and their families, providing much-needed resources and services that would otherwise be financially out of reach.

Unfortunately, there is a movement among some politicians in Indiana to reduce these crucial Medicaid waiver programs. Cutting funding or services from these programs would have devastating effects on thousands of families across the state, who, like us, depend on them for daily living assistance, specialized therapies, and community integration resources.

According to the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, over 30,000 individuals in our state benefit from Medicaid waiver programs. This statistic highlights the critical role these programs play in supporting our most vulnerable citizens. For many families, these programs make the difference between independence and institutionalization.

If these cuts are implemented, individuals with disabilities, including my son, could lose access to essential services such as personal care assistants, occupational therapy, and transportation services. This would not only undermine their quality of life but also their ability to participate fully in their communities.

We must take action now to preserve these programs. I urge you to voice your support for Indiana's Medicaid waiver programs by signing this petition. Together, we can send a strong message to our legislators: Do not cut funding to critical programs that support individuals with disabilities and their families. Every signature counts in advocating for the rights and dignity of those with disabilities. Your support can make a lasting impact. Please sign and share this petition today.
