Imagine living in a community where water is as precious as gold. Now imagine that resource is being threatened by a proposed project: a data center at the old golf course on Leland Rd in Pittsburg, CA 94565. I'm deeply concerned, as this data center will consume colossal amounts of water and energy. This is problematic as our area already suffers from drought and energy shortages.

Data centers are notorious for their excessive water usage, as they require vast quantities to keep their systems cool. According to an article by the New York Times, data centers can use as much water as 100,000 homes each day. And it's not just water; they are energy guzzlers as well. Reports from various energy agencies indicate that data centers use about 1% of the world’s total electricity. With our energy rates already high, the demand from this facility could cause them to skyrocket even further.

But it's not just about resources—it's about the noise pollution they bring. The hum of generators and cooling systems can ruin the peace of our neighborhoods and disturb our daily lives. According to studies on noise pollution, prolonged exposure to such noise can have adverse health effects, including stress and anxiety.

There is genuinely nothing to gain from this data center. California is known for its water shortages, and introducing another high-demand facility will only exacerbate these issues. We must act now before it's too late. I urgently request your support in stopping this harmful project.
