On Tuesday, August 2, 2016 our attorney sent a letter to Door County District Attorney Ray Pelrine, notifying him that this pig wrestling event violates Wisconsin Statute 951.02 prohibiting the mistreatment of an animal in a cruel manner, causing pain or suffering. We are asking him to take all steps necessary to bring a halt to this illegal event. You can help us with our efforts: 1. Call Door County District Attorney Ray Pelrine at 920-746-2284 or email him at raymond.pelrine@da.wi.gov and ask him to tell event organizers to cancel the event because it violates Wisconsin's Crimes Against Animals statutes. 2. E-mail or call members of the Dan Austad, Chairman of the Door County Board of Supervisors and ask him to step in with an emergency ordinance banning pig wrestling. district8@co.door.wi.us 920-743-6773 3.
