Group Charges Pig Abuse - You Bet We Do!

In a recent article in the Door County Pulse, pig wrestling coordinator Ralph Bochek said the following: “And, by the way, these pigs are on the way to the slaughterhouse. We give them a week reprieve. If it wasn’t for us, they’d be in the cooler. But guess what? They’re going to be there Monday (the day after the event).” These callous comments are typical of those who see nothing wrong bullying animals for "entertainment." The pig wrestling event is scheduled for one week from today. This week, the Alliance for Animals will run a full-page color ad in the Door County Advocate and will rent a billboard saying, "Say NO to pig wrestling at Valmy Thresheree" for the entire week leading up to the event. Tourists, on their way "up north" will see that Valmy is not part of the many tourist activities that constitute Door County charm.
