Peter Yarrow, of the folk band Peter, Paul, and Mary, is coming to perform at the Colonial Theater in Keene, New Hampshire. You may not know Yarrow, but are likely familiar with the band's most famous song, Puff the Magic Dragon. In 1970, Yarrow was convicted of molesting a 14-year-old girl, to which he pleaded guilty. He served three months of a prison sentence before being pardoned by President Jimmy Carter. Since then, he has been accused of raping at least one other minor, for which he was never charged. 

Yarrow's pardon was, according to a 2021 Washington Post article, "...perhaps the only one in U.S. history wiping away a conviction for a sexual offense against a child —  [it] escaped scrutiny when it happened. It was granted just hours before the American hostages in Iran were freed, which captured headlines for weeks." Since the pardon, Yarrow has enjoyed a lucrative career as a performer, touring across the United States. 

Peter Yarrow is a convicted abuser. His pardon was a miscarriage of justice. He can erase his record, but he cannot erase the facts. Keene's Colonial Theater does not need to enable his career. Tell the Colonial to stop helping Yarrow as he gaslights the public. Please sign this petition and show the world Keene does not welcome abusers like Yarrow.
