Stop Pet(s) As Distributable Property - Grant Family Pet(s) Best Interest in Divorce

The Issue

When it comes to divorce or separation, pets are treated and seen as property in the courts. Even given the opportunity to try, a Judge will likely determine your pet's worth as they would a tool in your garage or a dining room table.

As a result, animals are being placed in homes where they cannot be cared for as they once were. This can lead to medical issues, death, or the animal later being surrendered.

We don’t think this is the correct way to handle the life of any pet. We think a judge should consider the pet's best interest and ensure they are placed with someone who can safely maintain their care with the least amount of disruption to their life and routine.

Sign this petition alongside countless others Nationwide to give your pet and all pets the best life possible in cases of post-divorce or separation.
