Stop Pepco’s Unfair Electricity Rate Hikes – Remove the 6% Fee Increase!

The Issue

Prince George’s County residents are being gouged by Pepco’s skyrocketing electricity rates. In the past two months, bills have increased by over 100% for many households, with the company attributing this to cold weather and a 6% increase in taxes and fees, adding an extra $75 per customer.

Many of us are on fixed incomes, struggling to pay rent, buy groceries, and afford basic necessities. Despite using energy-efficient appliances, smart thermostats, and other conservation measures, our bills continue to soar.

This is unfair and unacceptable—a basic necessity like electricity should not be priced like a luxury. We demand that Pepco and Maryland legislators remove the 6% tax and fee increase for January and February to provide relief for struggling households.

Sign this petition to tell Pepco and Maryland lawmakers: Enough is enough! We demand fair energy pricing and immediate relief.
