Since the public meeting, beyond a little bit of lip service, we are still waiting for clarity on what specific actions are being taken to stop the proposal at North Park Plaza in its current form.

Following the meeting—and thanks to the hard work of local residents—we have learned that the application was appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal back in June 2023 due to City Council’s failure to act. A Case Management Conference was also held in September 2023 (OLT Case No. OLT-23-000689).

In the meantime, community momentum continues to grow. We have now reached 1,000 signatures from residents who share concerns about this proposal.

At this point, we are still waiting for further details. Information appears to be coming out slowly now that more people in the community are asking questions and working to keep decision-makers accountable.
