Thank you to everyone who came out to the public meeting last night. Your presence made a real difference. After what we heard and saw, I think it’s clear to everyone who attended that this proposal was not brought forward in a transparent way. It certainly felt like they were trying to move this ahead without the broader community fully understanding what was happening.

There was a great deal of conflicting information shared about timelines, and several important details only came to light during the meeting — including the applicant’s appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal, which the community had not been made aware of beforehand. 

Please continue to spread the word. The only way we get anywhere close to being heard is with many voices speaking together. Talk to your neighbours, share the petition, and keep others informed.
