Who Is Impacted?
Millions of pet parents across the U.S. are forced to comply with outdated vaccine protocols that do not consider individual immunity. Many of us have witnessed our pets suffer from chronic illness, autoimmune disorders, and neurological issues after unnecessary booster shots—health complications that could have been avoided with titer testing. At the same time, pet parents are left with no choice but to follow a one-size-fits-all vaccination schedule, even when a simple titer test could confirm their pet is already protected. Currently, rabies titers are required for international travel but are not recognized in many U.S. states for legal compliance—an inconsistency that needs to be corrected. By allowing titer testing as an alternative to unnecessary vaccinations, we can reduce health risks and align pet vaccine policies with modern science. 

Why Is Now the Time to Act?
Scientific advancements have made it clear that antibody titer testing is a reliable way to determine immunity, reducing the need for unnecessary revaccination. We urge the CDC, USDA, and state health officials to immediately review and update pet vaccine policies to federally recognize titer testing as a valid alternative to automatic revaccination. Veterinary experts agree—titers provide an accurate measure of immunity while preventing over-vaccination and its harmful effects.
