Aged care regulations in NSW are slowly killing our elderly. Residents, including my mother, are not dying from COVID-19 but rather from the isolation and deterioration due to over-the-top COVID-19 precautions which are now causing too much harm for such a mild illness. 

Prisoners are allowed to exercise daily and leave their rooms. But the elderly are being confined to their rooms for weeks at a time if a COVID-19 case is found in their homes. For elderly residents like my mother with dementia – keeping them confined to their rooms means no stimulation, no exercise, and no orientation. By all means, keep the COVID positive cases confined to their rooms, but not the entire floor or section! 

Please help by signing this petition for NSW legislators to stop killing the elderly with Covid-19 precautions – let the elderly be free to live out their last days free to enjoy their time with their loved ones, friends and participate in all the activities and physical exercise they so desperately need for their mental and physical health!
