Stop Outsized Development on Singer Island at the Estuary at Blue Heron Bridge
The Issue
We, the undersigned, wish to express our position as categorically opposed to the plans of the Continuum Company, NY, to build a 25-story, almost-300-unit monstrosity condominium buidling on an environmentally sensitive property on Singer Island, Riviera Beach, Palm Beach County, the very home of the County's own Phil Foster Park Snorkling Trail, an internationally-acclaimed destination for snorkling and scientific research.
This effort of outsized land development is just one more example in our north county area of developers' greed attempting to overshadow the will of the surrounding established residents.
In this particular case, the developer has expressed plans to strong-arm the town into complying to their wishes by using the Live Local Act, and would put the minimum number of required lower-prices units into the plan, just to force it through and circumvent any citizens' action against it. This is surely not in the intended spirit of the Live Local Act, and is an intentional abuse of its purpose. We beseech any authority who is able to help us rectify this situation to please act on our behalf, and that of the estuary that is part of the public trust.
