The hardest time of a kids life is events that happen close to home or in their homes. Kids deserve to be thought about throughout the whole process. Not just what parent should have time and a judgement order . I have been going through a rough court process for longer than 8 years … So much change happened between that time but also a lot of neglect to my child. So many angles of neglect . The neglect from one parent not following the order. Effecting the mind state of the child on what to do and what not to do . The neglect from the judges that proceed over the cases with families with no attorneys. Making judgements and not checking on those judgements status. There should be even treatment with family cases as they are with criminals cases. I don’t believe the courts do enough to ensure the child is protected throughout this process…(if they were criminals they would ensure they were where they are suppose to be) I have a solid judge now but it is no different then the other 12 I have seen ! There are balls being dropped in the court house ! And families that need the help are paying the cost ! We pay for these forms for help . To stop the things going on in split homes. It’s a lot of testimonies that judges listen too and not paying attention to the evidence in the case as they would in criminal.. I feel like families that can’t afford lawyers should be appointed one. I feel like a number and my child is being corrupted why I only have the option to have to put in continuous papers telling what’s wrong and what’s not going right . Just for nothing to be done . I have sole custody but have No custody.. judge say my ex can go to jail for not following the order and it doesn’t happen .. judge says she has to pay a fine then take it back if a address is provided which in court paperwork it was already established that both parties should share addresses. So it’s dropped. Judge says if u don’t return child u will lose contact and visits for 30 days .. it happens and the judge don’t stand on his signed order ! It’s not the first order signed by different judges that didn’t hold weight ! But now I still sit and wait and have to do more work as a petitioner while the respondent gets to mind play the child and do as she pleases with no consequences. This has totally opened a door for others to follow and know that a child custody order holds no weight ! Unless u have a lawyer that the judge can feel he has to do by the book ! It’s unfair to the families and the children . Now my child is doing things that he shouldn’t be doing and going to be another statistic! I came to the courts for help but instead it was a marry go round of failed promises and useless orders !!! Our child doesn’t matter we are just trash with no money to be heard ! This has to change !! Judges write you to write them; you respond and then u never get a response from your response ! It’s unfair and it’s life traumatizing ! This has to end now ! A change has to happen ! I know I’m not the only one that has been treated like a number in the court system !! Not even the strongest parent can withstand repeated court appearances and withhold the emotional trauma they are going through ! It’s far to expected for things to go right !
