Marine wildlife such as seabirds, whales, fish and turtles mistake plastic waste for prey. In some cases they eat to much plastic they eventually die from eating the plastic and not actual food. When this happens they can lose the ability to swim, suffer internal injuries,  and many more problems. Many types of metal can accumulate in seafood, which makes it dangerous for humans to eat. Also, many sea animals are dying as well as coral reefs. Bacteria, parasites, and sewage can get into drinking water and cause problems for your digestive system.
