Here are more updates about Local Law 97. Even though Local Law 97 officially went into effect on January 1,2024 the Adams administration did give an extension of time for buildings to be compliant.

Also there was a lawsuit brought about by some Queens co-ops. The lawsuit was dismissed by the court in November 2023. Recently however, the lawsuit was appealed and reinstated by the Appeals Court so there is some hope there. 

Also there is Council Member Linda Lee's new bill (introduced in April 2024) - Intro 0772  that updates a bill she introduced in 2023 (previously 1197 in 2023) that did not gain enough support among Council Members but now has 25 Council Members supporting it - one short of a majority. Basically it includes gardens and green spaces for counting carbon emissions. So just one more Council Member is needed to sign on for it to pass the City Council. Therefore I am circulating this petition again to try to get more signatures to persuade just one more Council Member to sign on.
