This article from Business Insider describes how seafood company Nueva Pescanova plans to open a new octopus farm that would be responsible for the inhumane deaths of a million of these intelligent creatures every year.

The standards of our food processing industries are severely flawed, maintaining acceptance in the severe mistreatment of many different species of animals. The octopus is just one of many, but has been scientifically proven to be one of our planet’s most unique and deeply feeling creatures. They need our protection.
