There is a new phone policy in the Norman, Oklahoma school district. This new policy is unliked students and teachers alike. The policy states that if you get caught with your phone once, it's a warning. If you get caught a second time, you get another warning and your parents get called. If you get caught a third time your phone will be locked in a vault in the front office until your parents get it, so basically indefinitely. This policy directly violates the 4th amendment of the United States constitution, which prevents illegal searches and seizures. This phone policy is an illegal seizure of student property and needs to be stopped immediately. This is going into effect today, May 1. If we stop this now, they may not continue the policy into next year.
