Recently NISD has decided to close down choir programs in multiple different NISD schools. Many students have already been affected by this, and maybe more will if something isn’t done about it.

Since 2020, COVID has had a big negative effect on choir programs in general. And while this does mean that some have gotten smaller, it doesn’t call for the complete eradication of the program.

The power of music and freedom of expression has impacted many. If choir gets defunded and cut off from the education system, hundreds of voices will never be heard. Students and teachers - past, present, and future - should have a say in the future of choir. A program built by students and teachers FOR the community. For us.
