 We the undersigned residents of Floyd County, Indiana hereby petition against the levy of additional property taxes to fund the proposed construction and or repair of the existing or a new City/County building.   As of June 5, 2023 there is no proposal, budget or plan.  Taxpayer awareness/input opportunities were not made widely known before being approved by the Commissioners.  We expect fiscal responsibility with the tax dollars collected. Why has there been no effort to fund this during the decades that the current building has been occupied?  This is a clear case of failure to plan and it should not fall on the property owners of Floyd County to pay for this with a new tax. We OBJECT to this new CCD tax and hereby present this PETITION TO PREVENT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW CCD TAX TO FUND THE REPAIRS/CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY/COUNTY BUILDING TO OUR PROPERTY TAXES IN 2024.
