The relentless false narratives that spread about him took a devastating toll on his wellbeing. Tragically, the consequences of these false stories eventually caught up to him, leading to his untimely death. The last few years of his life were consumed by misery and turmoil. I cannot stand by and watch as it happens again.

Netflix is planning to release a three-part docu-series focusing on the charges and accusations against Michael Jackson from 1993, 2003, and 2005 - accusations for which he was formally acquitted. This portrayal threatens to retraumatize his family, friends, and millions of fans by dredging up disputes that have long since been resolved in the court of law.

Michael Jackson was a global icon, one whose contributions to music and culture cannot be overstated. His influence has spanned decades and touched generations, and yet, a persistent shadow hangs over his memory due to these recycled allegations. Two different generations have been born since these events unfolded. We've been gifted with an opportunity to move forward, to remember Michael for his artistry, creativity, and kindness - not to dwell on unfounded accusations.

It's crucial to protect Michael's legacy from further damage. Documentaries should aim to inform and educate, not perpetuate one-sided narratives that further tarnish the reputation of individuals who cannot defend themselves. The legacy of Michael Jackson deserves respect and recognition of his proven innocence regarding these matters.

Let Netflix know that we do not support the airing of content that could defame a man who has given so much to the world.
