I am reaching out in urgent need to address a distressing situation that has taken over my life and the lives of my neighbors. My neighbor has taken it upon himself to act as a self-proclaimed "neighborhood sheriff," harassing us through his Facebook page where he holds unilateral control. He accumulates information and posts defamatory content about innocent residents, accusing them of illicit activities such as drug use and dealing. I have personally fallen victim to his baseless accusations, along with my family, having our pictures plastered online under false claims.

This individual has installed cameras throughout the neighborhood and even approaches people to allow him to place cameras on their property under his sole control. His attempts to monitor and intimidate us violate our fundamental right to privacy and create an environment of fear and unrest. The community is nervous and uncomfortable, as no one knows the extent of his surveillance.

I have repeatedly asked him to cease his behavior, only to be met with threats and coercion. He demands private information regarding who resides in and visits my home, with the implication that my family will continue to be targeted until his demands are met. This violation of our privacy and the malicious spread of misinformation are not only invasive but threatening, creating a toxic atmosphere in what should be our safe haven.

We cannot exist under constant watch, worry, and pressure from someone who abuses their power under the guise of "neighborhood safety." The frequent calls, name-calling, and picture-taking of our homes and families are instruments of fear tactics used to control us.

We need your help to end this unjust harassment. We seek immediate action from local authorities to intervene, conduct an investigation, and hold this individual accountable for his actions. It's crucial that our privacy is restored and that a secure, peaceful environment is reinstated in our community. We are asking the Waterloo Police Department to do a thorough investigation as our constant calling and reporting and begging for help has led us nowhere and we are fearful someone is going to get hurt if this is not solved as things are escalating quickly.
