Stop my school board from promoting pro life organizations

Stop my school board from promoting pro life organizations

The Issue

Being pro choice means you have the choice. You can choose to keep the child or not. And some people choose not to for valid reasons.

As a concerned student, I am urging my school board, the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board to stop promoting pro life organizations. It is important for schools to remain neutral on controversial issues and not push their personal beliefs onto students.

Promoting pro life organizations can make people who have had abortions or are considering them feel ostracized and unsupported. It can also create a hostile environment for those who do not share the same beliefs as the promoted organization.

Furthermore, it is important to note that access to safe and legal abortion is a fundamental human right. According to the World Health Organization, unsafe abortions account for 13% of maternal deaths worldwide. By promoting pro life organizations, schools may inadvertently contribute to the stigmatization of abortion and discourage individuals from seeking safe medical care.

It is crucial that schools prioritize creating an inclusive environment where all students feel supported regardless of their personal beliefs or experiences. Therefore, I urge my school to refrain from promoting any pro life organizations in order to create a welcoming and supportive community for all students.
